Find the accessibility barriers a scanner can't.

Audit note: 1.4.3Passes This heading measures 15.91:1 against the background. Large text needs 3:1.

We test your site the way disabled people use it: keyboard only, with screen readers, zoomed in. Then we tell your team exactly what to fix for WCAG 2.1 AA and AODA.

Audit note: 2.5.8Passes These buttons are 44px tall; the minimum is 24px. Tab to one: the 3px focus ring measures 7.33:1.

These notes are our own audit of this page.

One cookie banner. Two very different results.

A constructed example of a pattern that passes automated checks and still locks people out. Each manual finding is written the way it appears in our reports.

Audit note: 1.4.1Passes Severity is always written out, never shown by colour alone.

Automated scan

0 issues found

Contrast, alt text and form labels all pass. Nothing is flagged, so the banner ships.

Manual test

3 barriers found

  1. Critical

Keyboard users can't accept or reject cookies.

Both buttons are styled <div> elements with click handlers, so Tab skips them. Anyone without a mouse is stuck behind the banner.

    Fix
    Use real <button> elements.
    WCAG
    2.1.1 Keyboard
  2. Serious

Screen reader users reach it last.

The banner is added at the end of the page, so a screen reader reads everything else before announcing it.

    Fix
Move focus to the banner when it opens.
    WCAG
    2.4.3 Focus Order
  3. Serious

At 400% zoom, the buttons disappear.

The banner fills the screen and doesn't scroll, so its buttons sit out of reach for people who magnify their screen.

    Fix
Cap the banner's height and let it scroll.

Need an ACR (VPAT) for procurement? We write one from our own full audit of your site, from $500 CAD. See full pricing

Audit note: 1.3.1Passes This is a real table with header cells, so a screen reader reads each price with its option.

How a full audit runs

Four steps, and you know the scope and price before any testing starts.

  1. Scope

We agree on the pages, the key user journeys and the standard: WCAG 2.1 AA, AODA, Section 508 or ADA.

  2. Test

An automated pass with axe DevTools and Lighthouse, then manual testing: keyboard only, with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack, and at every zoom level.

  3. Report

Every finding says where it is, who it blocks, how to fix it and which WCAG criterion it breaks. Add a VPAT if procurement needs one.

  4. Fix

Your developers get direct support while they fix. Monthly monitoring keeps it fixed after launch.

After the audit

Tell us what needs auditing.

Send us the site or app and your deadline. We'll reply with a scope and a quote.

This site is built to WCAG 2.2 AA. If you hit a barrier on it, tell us.
